BÖ / Nenni

You can't choose who you love

Time is flying. Really after five years, when I looked back I see it clearly. Time fly and no one can stop it. Things change, but some things stay stable.  we don't let them change. Or they don't let us change. I had good and bad time in this five years. But I really appreciate to all of my memories which is making me who I am. All persons who come to my life, makes me happy and maybe even cry.
Anyway, if we come to point, I really love this song and some how put in me a mood which reminds my past. But the past is past in the end. The song is about a love story what have happily ever after. (Finally a happy love story). There was a girl and a boy who love each other. But guess what, their families have a really serious problem about each other we even call them enemy. Lovers had a tough time because of the enemy issues but in the end families member understand their love and permit them to get married. Thanks to this marriage both of side get make up and end of story everyone be happy.

Songs have lots of versions but I like this one most. My second favorite is below one. But it puts me seriously bad mood. so be careful when you listen. I have just realized that this is first Turkey Turkish song I ever shared. I hope you enjoy it. :)

Thanks to Selda Bağcan I can find English lyric of song easly :)  so I am gonna give English lyric direcly here :)

He lays gunny on the roof

He lays gunny on the roof
Leyli de my love loylu da my love

He has someone to love
Leyli de my love loylu da my love

Lena Chamamyan / Sareri Hovin Mernem

'What should ı say as a introductory sentence ?' Less or more 10 minute, I'm thinking about this. But I did not find remarkable sentence for first one. An Armenian song. Actually not just Armenian song ' An amazing, marvelous, magnificent, etc Armenian song.' İs that enough to describe this song quality ? I'm not sure. on the other hand, understanding this song's emation what it wants to get felt you depend on your mood and emotional background. İf you are in a blue mood and also you have a broken heart yeah, this is fit for you to passing depression time.
Lena Chamamyan. She is a Armenian singer who was born in Syria. She has an amazing voice. she was graduated from department of Business Administration. And then she studied on Classical Eastern Music at Aleppo University. Firstly Business Administration and then Music. This impressed me. Clearly, I understand that, if music in your destiny, soon or late you reach it.

As a final word here is Sareri Hovin Mernem Lyric. for today I'll also share Turkish Lyric because English one is not enough to understand the story of song.

I'll Die for the Wind of the Mountains

I'll die for the wind of the mountains
I'll die for the wind, I'll die for the wind
I'll die for the height of my beloved
I'll die for the height, I'll die for the height
I stopped, I can't come
I can't come, I can't come
I'm filled, I can't cry
I can't cry, I can't cry
I haven't seen in a year,
Those who've seen, oh beloved, I'll die for their eyes
The rivers don't bring water
They don't bring any news from you
Your heart must be frozen
Your love, oh beloved, they don't bring it in vain
I stopped, I can't come
I can't come, I can't come
I'm filled, I can't cry
I can't cry, I can't cry
I haven't seen in a year,
Those who've seen, oh beloved, I'll die for their eyes
Dağların rüzgarına öleyim
Dağların rüzgarına öleyim
Yarimin boyuna öleyim
Bir yıldır ki görmemişim
Görenin gözüne öleyim
Durmuşum gelemiyorum
Dolmuşum ağlayamıyorum
Bir yıldır ki görmemişim
Görenin gözüne öleyim

Origa / Polyushka Polye

Polyushka Polye... My Destiny.

Today we gonna talk about my lovely song 'Polyushka Polye'. İn fact, this is not just a song for me this more than a song. This song have a story in my life what I cannot tell you. Just know that, Polyushka Polye is my destiny. I fell this in deepest place of my soul. Anyway this is really strange and long story... What a long story !

How I heard this lovey song ?

One of my regular day, I was going to school. İn Osmanbey metro station, one of music band ( They call ownself as Metrostring) was playing a song what I did not know. But I fall in love with song from the moment I first hear. And I recorded they music to searching after. But I could not find. after 6 month from my searching, I learn song is name by chance. An that I understand that, there is a right time for everything, we just wait for this right moment in patiently.

A Russian song? OMG!

When one of my friend said me ' This is a Russian folk song', I just can say ' You gotta be kidding me ? Russian again ?. After whole this things , I just think that all this things should have a meaning or message, or something like that.' But I still do not know end of my story. I still wait patiently.

For Closing, Here is 'Polyushka Polye' lyric in English and  some other versions

Field, my field,
My wide field.
The heroes ride over the field,
Heroes of the past.

The wind scatters your brave songs
Across the green field.
Songs of the past,
Leaving them alone with your glory,
And right at the end, on a dusty road…

Field, my field,
My wide field,
The heroes ride over the field,
Heroes of the past.

Field, my field, has seen so much misfortune.
It was drenched in blood,
The blood of the past.

Idir/ A Vava İnouva

Hamid Cheriet or better known by name Idir. ( Believe me, I have just learned his real name, thanks to Wikipedia) İn this content we gonna talk about a Idir song, name " A vava İnouva." Again an Arabic song and agaiın from Algeria. This country have lots of precious musician. Actually not only Algeria but also whole eastern counties have fertile music culture. This is what ı try to show you, in fact. Anyway if we back 'A vava İnouva', The song talk about a father and his daugther. İt  is look like a fairytale. And here you are song's lyric in English;

"I ask you father inouva, open the door
O daughter ghriba, shake your bracelets
I fear the monster of the forest father Inouva
O daughter ghriba, I fear him too

The old one is rolled up in his "burnous" (traditional trenchcoat)
in the distance, to warm himself
His son is scared to earn bread
Looking at the days to come
The grand-dauhter-in-law sews
Without stopping putting the cloth
The children around the grandmother
learn the teachings from the old days

The snow pushes up against the door
the stew in the large cooking pot
the elders begin dreaming of springtime
the moon and the stars being the canopy
the oak tree replaces the view
the family gathers together
ready to listen to the story"

Souad Massi / Raoui

Oh, Storyteller, Tell Us A Story

Today , I would prepared to tell another song but I change my decide this morning. This day I'm gonna talk about Souad Massi's fabulous song ; Raoui. But first thing first, I want to share with you why I changed my mind.

Two days that we have left behind is very odd. ( Maybe, odd is not the fit for this situation but I could not find a word to better description). One day you wake up and people who around you, television, social media, I mean, all media channel talk about War III possibility. Look like that two war is not enough for human being in history. Already lots of people from whole over the world died or still dying. But I said this is not enough, we need more and more. Also ,weirdest part of this situation is that all this person killed/ or died for better world, peace, or democracy..İt seems that democracy should be machine what work with innocence human blood. Because I cannot see any logical reason for world right now situation.

Anyway I'm not a politican or someone like that. I hope everything will be okey for my country and for all world. I'm passing my today song; Raoui.  Raoui is the one of incredible song of Massi. She has a lots of amazing song and I love all of them. İn the next days I will talk about them. Belive or not, I met with Massi's songs because of a war.

Because of a war ?

Let me tell you the story. it is not complicated. I heard one of souad massi song in a cafe at kadıköy. untill this moment is everything usual . I learned this cafe one of my friend's Tunisian friend. This cafe name is Arthere İstanbul. the cafe run by Syrian artist. Cafe's Owner is Omer. He is a Syrian Photographer. The cafe is also art a gallery and you can meet with lots of painter at Arthere. All lovely person who create Arthere came from Syria and this is and of story .Anyway if you learn more About Arthere I'll give a link in below.

The Dictator

Finally, I want to talk about a movie ; The Dictator. Clearly the movie is not one of my favorite. But in some way, it is worthwhile to watch and The Raoui is playing one part of the movie. Most probably best part . But my favorite part is that "main characters describing dictatorship". Somehow this description is very familiar. And this is that description of dictatorship;

"You could let one percent of the people have all the nation's wealth. You could help your rich friends get richer by cutting their taxes and bailing them out when they gamble and lose. You could ignore the needs of the poor for health care and education. Your media would appear free, but would secretly be controlled by one person and his family. You could wiretap phones. You could torture foreign prisoners. You could have rigged elections. You could lie about why you go to war. You could fill your prisons with one particular racial group and no one would complain. You could use the media to scare the people into supporting policies that are against their interests"
